More Labour Lies
We’ve come to expect the scare stories from Labour but deliberate lying in election leaflets is taking things too far. Maureen Bateson states in her literature that the Conservatives planned to close Ivy Street Community Centre. She knows this to be a blatant untruth.
As the Council records show we were in the process of handing over management of the Centre to an able group of volunteers who already did much of the running of the centre. She also fails to mention that when we were in power
we oversaw a complete refurbishment of the Ivy Street Centre.
As a party which never sets out to waste public money we were obviously not
doing this prior to closure. Labour, in fact, are continuing with our policy but are
taking longer over the transfer and involving Council staff in lots of meetings
(as they always do) and at greater cost to us all.
Labour are back to what they do best both nationally and locally, misleading
